I am proud to be one of the organizers of a local networking group here in Lawrenceville, GA. We have events a couple of times each month. This past event we were lucky to have George Robbins there from Your 1 Minute. He creates videos for business owners to help promote themselves and their company. Here is one he did as a gift for our networking group. Thanks again George, it looks fantastic!

Becoming involved in your local community is something I strongly believe in. Being able to help out other businesses that are struggling in this economy is beneficial to everyone. With that said, Purple Star Consulting was proud to film, edit and produce the following video. It is currently posted on our Facebook page and YouTube and is hopefully being watched by many local residents who will be inspired and encouraged to come and visit Lawrenceville and enjoy all that we have to offer here. Please feel free to link to the video or re-post!

Sharing with you all some fantastic things happening in Lawrenceville, GA. If you are close by, be sure to take part and enjoy the fun and community.

Experience Lawrenceville! While people are losing their jobs, their homes and closing their business doors, Lawrenceville Georgia refuses to sit and wait on a Stimulus plan. The Lawrenceville Community has gotten together not only ³Survive but Thrive² in this economical shift, says Meg and Lee Earhart who own Sparkle and Sparkle too.

The idea of the 13 week Stimulus Plan for Sunday¹s on the Square came one night during a casual networking evening. Every Tuesday evening the local business owners and local residents gather at Sperata¹s on Square to network and catch up. The Topic of Sunday¹s on the Square was brought up in discussion. Linda Campbell of Winfield Realty has been instrumental in bringing Commercial Businesses and these Owners to the square for years. Rodney Camren of Star Team Atlanta Realty of Keller Williams has been doing the Residential in Lawrenceville. Rodney, along with other Realtors, know that Sunday¹s are difficult to get people through Open Houses as well and businesses on the square. A few more Martini¹s and a few more meetings more ideas were brought to the table. The community would not only stimulate the local businesses but also find a way to help our Home Owners sell their properties. As the idea started gaining momentum Michael Rumph, local Funeral Director of Wages & Son¹s Funeral Home said ³this is a NEW LAWRENCEVILLE² . He then started a group on Face Book NEW LAWRENCEVILLE ³Revitalizing a Historical Community with a Positive Approach to a Rich and Prosperous Future. Networking and moving forward but remembering and appreciating our past.² Gwinnett Magazine named several local Lawrenceville business owners recipients¹ of their coveted award ³Best of Gwinnett 2008² including, Downtown Lawrenceville for Best Business Address, Ray & Penny Cogdill of Huff¹s Flowers, Cindy Gilbert of The Singin Bean Coffee Shop, Meg & Lee Earhart of Sparkle and Sparkle Too!, Winfield Realty, McCray’s Tavern On The Square and many more.

The Tours started April 5th 2009 and will run through June 28th 2009. The Trolley (her name is Annabelle) will run Tours on Sunday¹s through Historic Lawrenceville and Scheduled Open Houses throughout our Lawrenceville Community. We will highlight Lawrenceville Square, the parks, the walking trails and some of the Lawrenceville¹s history, Businesses and Homes for sale. The Trolley holds approximately 30 people at a time. We will have 2 scheduled tours each Sunday. The first will be at 12:30pm and the 2nd at 3:00pm. The Trolley Tour is FREE to all those who ride and is guided by local citizen, historian and author Mary Long.
