So you have a blog, you are ahead of the curve!
You have a Twitter account and a Facebook Page? Even better! Now what about getting those blog posts out to your Social Networking accounts?
If you have a WordPress blog, and not the free kind on WordPress.com, you can use a simple plugin that some lovely developer has already created. Just search for it, install it and enter your Twitter and Facebook info into the settings. Each time you post, it sends an update to those accounts and distributes your information that way.If you have a WordPress.com site, or any other type of blog that doesn’t have it’s own built in integration, there is another way to get your blog posts into Twitter and Facebook, without having to manually update those accounts each time.
Twitterfeed.com is a free service that enables you to post your rss feed (blog feed) directly through to different social networking sites. Simply sign up for an account. Take your feed address and add it to your account.
Next you can decide which of your other accounts you want to push this feed out to. If we pick Facebook, you can connect directly to your account. If you are already logged in on your computer to Facebook at the same time, it can automatically find your account. If you have a Page and a Profile, you can select if you want the feed to be updated on both of them.
With your Twitter account you can authenticate with it automatically or enter you user name and password to log in. There are also Advanced settings that allow you to determine how often you want Twitterfeed to search for changes to your feed. You can also select the url shortening service that gets used (tinyurl, bit.ly). Now each time your rss feed gets updated, your Twitter and Facebook accounts will have that update pushed out to them also! Easy!
